Oh look who we got here? Angelina Jolie, Paries Hilton, US President Barack Obama himself, actor icons like Jack Nicholson or Meryl Streep. But is that everything we see? Their names? Their reputation? Their profession? Or maybe Jay-Z e.g. is just simply an afro-american guy in his early 40ies with a wife and a kid. Living in NYC and happen to have a lucky hand for rap? Those incredible sincere portraits of famous people were taken by the german photographer Martin Schoeller. In comparison to Germany he's quite known in the States working for many magazines e.g. 'The New Yorker'. Though there was a lot of noise lately due to his new series where he portrayed female body builders at their high points of their career. Questioning the ideals of beauty. I really like his work because next to all the fashion, hyped and vintage stuff there are - thank god - still photographers out there who try to point out all the trivial (but more important) things in life out through their work. To remind us: no matter who, no matter where - we are all just humans.

Solche Momente kennen wir doch alle. Feierabendverkehr, man steigt in die Ubahn ein. Unwissend. Und prompt kommt eine Menschenmasse mit herein. Schupst. Schiebt.
You all know this moments when you stepp into a tube and suddenly a massive crowd follows you in it too. They push. It can get you close to a person, seat, pole or a pane. In Tokyo the situation is worse than in Europe. Staff members even try to push you in even though there isn't any actual space left. Those kind of situations were captured by Michael Wolf in impressing photographs. More of them and other series you can see on his homepage. BTW: watcha think about the new blog design?
ANTOINE D'AGATA - a french photographer and magnum member. It's actually quite hard to describe why I like his photos. He takes it all from sex - erotic to danger and violence. But the most interesthing and fascinating part of his photos is the tension that you can literally feel from the pictures. I like it. Because it's real. It shows us a world which is there. We know it. But is loved to get denied and forgotten by us: the underworld.

new category: creative source. I want to introduce you to several artists, photographers and maybe even bloggers whose work I find inspiring or interesthing. I want to give you an insight into my art taste (which is really versatile) and of course inform and inspire you too. So here we go!
Einfach Unbeschreiblich!
SALLY MAN - an american photographer who photographed her children for over 10 years. That incredible sincere intimacy is coming through from the photos and is amazingly faszinating. I fell in love with her pictures in summer 2010 when I was attending an exhibition of hers in the photographers gallery in London. She's just incredibly inspiring!
